GENUINE VINTAGE US NAVY A-2 DECK JACKET. SIZE LARGE - VERY GOOD GRADE-1 USED CONDITION. This is a genuine US Navy issue A-2 deck jacket, an all-time classic piece of USN uniform and a rightly prized piece of vintage military clothing for casual wear. First issued in the 1960's and finally out of service by the early 1990's this particular jacket is dated by the DLA contract code as manufactured in 1982 by Vanderbilt Shirt Co. These jackets are a masterpiece of design and construction, the outer shell is made from a tough OG107 olive green cloth, there is a brass zip with button storm baffle, concealed knitted cuffs, single breast pocket with press stud closure, twin handwarmer pockets and heavy duty adjuster tabs at the hips. The jacket is fully lined with a wool type (I think its either a light wool mix or totally synthetic), pile lining which will keep you warm in colder months. The quality of materials and construction is second to none, these jackets will give you a lifetime of service and they look awesome. Jacket is in very good Grade-1 used condition, it has been issued and worn so it is not mint but it is still in great shape and has clearly not led a hard life and the paint retention to the press stud and adjuster buckles are testament to that. There is a light even fade to the shell, the zip is original and in perfect working condition with no undue wear to the tab ends, the knitted cuffs appear to be perfect, the pile liner has not gone really fluffy or bare like heavily used examples and there are no stains of filthy marks.

There is on tiny nick to the lower part of the storm baffle (see photo), and there is a serviceman's name written inside the collar but otherwise there are no flaws to note. ALL photos show the ACTUAL jacket that you will receive so you can see for yourself that it is in very nice order with a lifetime of service left in it. Jacket is labelled as size LARGE 42-44, it fits pretty true to size but these are not particularly generous and if you normally take a Medium then it should also do the job but with a baggier fit, your best bet is to consult the actual measurements as they come up on the tape but bear in mind that this is a coat to be worn over your regular clothing and that it is lined. On the tape it comes up as follows: 48" chest (24" pit-to-pit), 19" across the shoulders, 21" under-arm, 28.5 from collar seam to bottom hem of jacket. You will never regret owning one of these jackets!
