US Post WW2 Army Officer's Field Grade Named Dress White Visor Hat Cap 7 1/4

  
For sale here is a great looking US WW2 Era Army Officer's Visor Hat. This hat is a hard one to find. It is a Dress White Visor cap for a Field Grade Officer. This particular cap is named to Jay Hunt Lieutenant Colonel Infantry. I have not researched Colonel Hunt. Based on construction, i would say that this cap is directly post war.

The cap has a removeable white cotton cover with white mohair band. The cap is complete with a gold bullion chin cord and gold bullion oak leaves on a felt visor top. The cap is stiff and does have an internal wicker head band. The cover shows some soiling and light yellowing, but should clean up well when removed and cleaned.

The bullion accents show patina as well, which gives the cap a great look. The Officer's eagle is highly detailed and is marked N.

Meyer with shield logo on the rear. I can't tell what color the eagle was originally, but it is nearly black with patina now. Inside, the cap is unlined, but does have a strap style sweat shield that contains Colonel Hunt's calling card in the name slot.

There are no maker's markings, but there is a size tag of 59 7 1/4. The cap has a supple fully attached perforated leather sweat band. As mentioned, the hat is stiff, and will need a for to display properly.
